Dr Caitlin Herington

Teaching and learning is a process of communication, based in understanding students' skills and needs. Talking with students directly, consulting parents and other teachers for external perspectives, and selective use of respected testing tools, helps develop a comprehensive picture of these needs and skills. 

I have spent more than twenty years developing my own literacy and linguistic skills and can offer detailed and carefully tailored learning experiences in all areas; spelling, reading, comprehension, and writing. Exam skills and planning education pathways with students is also an important part of supporting students through secondary school.

I have taught at all levels and am happy to support any learners looking to improve across English and Humanities. I am most experienced and comfortable teaching upper secondary students. I also specialise in supporting students with extra learning needs, such as Giftedness, Dyslexia, ASD and twice exceptionality.
